The Tamar Bridge and Torpoint Ferry Joint Committee is a local government committee formed by five councillors from each of the two Joint Authorities, Plymouth City Council and Cornwall Council.

The joint committee operates and maintains both the Torpoint Ferry Crossing and The Tamar Bridge Crossing.

It had been identified that a number of important operational processes were both incredibly time consuming, inefficient and costly. A better method had to be found, with the search arriving at ORS Group and DocuWare.

The existing “Tag Accounts” system records all users of the bridge who are subscribed to the monthly billing system. At the end of every month the system sends all users a paper based bill. This has to be printed out and posted out to thousands of drivers – a time consuming and costly task. DocuWare Cloud was configured to interrogate Tag Accounts in order to email all users.
